
Thiruvananthapuram [India], April 19 (ANI): Relief operations in flood-hit Kerala entered a fifth day on Saturday as rains eased across most of the affected belt and water levels began to recede in the Pamba and Periyar basins.
A central team led by the Union Home Secretary arrived in the state capital to assess damage across Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Ernakulam. Preliminary state estimates put agricultural losses at over Rs 2,300 crore.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said 38,000 people remain in relief camps and appealed for sustained central assistance ahead of the next monsoon. (ANI)
